Immediacy Theatre Project
Johnny B Cannon
May 26-June 3
On May 26, The Immediacy Theatre Project will explode in downtown
Belleville with its first-ever full-length play "Johnny A. Cannon"
at the Lemming Armada Theatre.
Written and directed by ITP Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director Kyle
Kratky, "Johnny A. Cannon" is a satire on pop-culture.
"It is 2042, there are looming threats of terrorist attacks from
Saruman the Puce, and our protagonist Johnny A. Cannon has gone
crazy from a mysterious trauma," says Kratky.
The actors play a multitude of rolls from spies to wizards and
action heroes to average Joes. The Immediacy Theatre Project has
added another challenge to this production with a shoe-string
budget. Performances will feature interrogations by sock puppets and
clever car explosions.
" 'Johnny A. Cannon' emphasizes the absurdity of the media, of the
entertainment industry, of politics to hilarious results. It is
pointed, and it raises questions in an uproariously subversive
manner," says Madelyn Boyne, actor and member of the Immediacy
Theatre Project.
Other actors in "Johnny A. Cannon" include Danielle Borsch, Ryan
Cook, Adam Hamm, Matt Heckman, Ryan Heckman, and ITP newcomer Angie
Sveck.
